Films and the Broadway stage have provided much of the most memorable music of our time. Come listen as the Indiana Wind Symphony recreates the sounds that evoke our favorite Hollywood and Broadway moments, including works by Leonard Bernstein, John Williams, Lerner and Loewe, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and more!

Featuring Hoosier vocal soloists Jessamyn Anderson, soprano, and Michael Deane, tenor.



Hope Springs Eternal
The Rite of Spring at 100

Saturday, November 16th, 2013 at 7:30pm

When it premiered in 1913, the avant-garde nature of Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring nearly caused a riot at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris. In the hundred years since, its originality has influenced many composers and it has become one of the most recorded works in the classical repertoire. Come hear this wonderful piece, plus works of Morton Gould, John Philip Sousa, Norman Dello Joio and others.



Holiday Soundscape

Through picturesque holiday compositions from the likes of Gustav Holst, Norman Dello Joio, Leroy Anderson, and many others, the Indiana Wind Symphony will create a gallery of soundscapes evoking the spirit of the season.

IWS principal flutist Carl Butler will be featured in Cécile Chaminade's Concertino for Flute.



By Air or By Sea

Let the Indiana Wind Symphony be your vessel on a musical adventure on the high seas and through higher skies. The night's musical selections will draw on the musical imagery of ocean and air.



Folksong Fantasia

The Indiana Wind Symphony and tenor Ken Knowles bring you an evening of songs from the Old Country and the New World alike. The concert will feature a motley assortment of works from Piotr Tchaikovsky, Johan de Meij, Franz Liszt, Percy Grainger and more.



American Tapestry

Saturday, May 17th, 2014 at 7:30pm

The Indiana Wind Symphony's 2013-14 season finale features the magnificent trumpet playing of John Rommel on David Gillingham's stirring When Speaks the Signal-Trumpet Tone. James Barnes' emotional Third Symphony provides a moving end to the concert and to the season.
