Gettysburg Ghosts and Glories

Intended to commemorate the sesquicentennial of the Civil War, this concert will feature Aaron Copland’s stirring Lincoln Portrait, narrated by WISH-TV anchor Eric Halvorson, as well as pieces featuring melodies familiar to those involved in both sides of the struggle. Another highlight of the concert will be the second-ever performance of James Barnes’ new Seventh Symphony.
Hollywood and Halloween Treats

Enjoy movie music from some of Hollywood’s most acclaimed composers with pieces appropriate for Halloween. Included is Ghost Train, an entertaining tour-de-force for concert band composed by Eric Whitacre, one of the most successful American composers of the past decade.
Adding even more excitement to the program will be two world premieres. One will be the first performance of Butler University’s Composer in Residence Michael Schelle’s latest work The End of the World. The other will be the premiere of Fugue and Variations in F by Jan Pavel.
Holiday Memories

This concert features a variety of holiday fare. Included will be the consortium premiere of James Syler’s Fantasia on Silent Night. Carmel’s award-winning soprano Jessamyn Anderson will appear as soloist.
The IWS Amazing Race

A musical journey to various exotic and picturesque locales through pieces such as Ottorino Respighi’s Pines of Rome. Local piano virtuoso and rising star Kelleen Strutz will be featured, playing the exciting and powerful first movement from Edward Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A Minor.
The Wearing of the Green
