Springtime Celebration

  • The Palladium 1 Carter Green Carmel, IN, 46032 United States (map)

Celebrate the arrival of spring with this festive concert, featuring a spirited march from 1924 by John Philip Sousa: “Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company” and “Where Never Lark or Eagle Flew” by James Curno. A highlight of the evening will be the premiere performance of “Vision,” a new composition by Nashville-based composer David Sartor, who will also be conducting his piece.

The concert will feature the talents of visiting composer Mark Wolfram with his piece "Vertical Planes," showcasing the skills of four soloists: Larry Purdue on horn, Brian Hoover on trumpet, Mike Villano on trombone, and Bill Schmidt on tuba. Additionally, works by two other esteemed composers, Norman Dello Joio and James Curnow, will be presented, adding depth and variety to the musical offerings.

We are also honored to welcome guest conductor Jay Gephart, who will lead the ensemble and is set to become our next music director. This concert promises to be a memorable celebration of spring and a showcase of musical mastery.
