Experience the thrill of competition and the joy of music with the Indiana Wind Symphony’s Young Artists Concerto Competition. This event is part of the IWS concert, “Suite Dreams.”
Talented high school musicians from across Indiana are invited to compete for the opportunity to perform a solo at the Payne & Mencias Palladium at the Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana, accompanied by the Indiana Wind Symphony, and to win a $1,000 prize.

Competition Details
Must be a high school student (9th-12th grade) residing in Indiana.
Must perform a 4-8 minute piece that has full band accompaniment. Submissions longer than 8 minutes will not be accepted. IWS will provide the music for the band parts.
Must play a wind or percussion instrument (no piano or strings).
Must complete this application and submit a private YouTube link of your audition. You must be in the video for the entire recording, and the video may not be edited in any way.
The winner will be chosen by a committee of IWS band and board members using a rubric similar to the ISSMA State Solo and Ensemble form.
The winner must agree to attend rehearsals on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, or Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 7-9 p.m. AND Wednesday, April 8, 2026 (dress rehearsal). All rehearsals are in the Indianapolis area.
The winner must agree to be a part of the performance on Sunday, April.
